Is this a democracy or fascist society

One of the things Americans have been proud of is living in a free country. Can this still be considered true? There is a place for the government and law but it's not in our homes. Everything our country was founded on is becoming but a memory. Are we as a people choosing to give up our autonomy? Far too many ludicrous laws have already been passed. In some cases individuals are even signing over their rights.

Senator Ted Stevens and his cronies want to pass an "indecency" bill censoring cable TV and the Internet. There are already ways for parents to censor what their children watch on the television and block web sites. Is this not enough? If you put your children into a box sheltering them from the world what are you truly accomplishing. If this vicious attack on our rights is allowed what will be next. If we allow even a seemingly insignificant infringement on our rights we are allowing far to much.

Ignorance is our biggest obstacle. Many in our country are proud of their ignorance. This is a horrible travesty. Our children are being taught a censored version of our history. People are allowed to graduate high school without even knowing what the constitution is. Our teachers have a responsibility to educate to a point but it is ultimately up to us to expand our own knowledge. We could make excuses or lay blame but unless we do something to end this the fault is our own.

Question everything you think you know. Never blindly accept anything as fact. Get angry, get informed and do everything in your power to make a difference. Take a moment to reflect on what's happening.

Never relent.
